KUMU RAMSAY TAUM
Mentored by revered kūpuna (elders), Kumu Ramsay Taum is a respected teacher and guide in the realms of Ho‘oponopono(reconciliation & conflict resolution), Lomi Haha (body alignment & energy work), and Kaihewalu Lua (Hawaiian warrior arts).
His teachings bridge the ancient and the modern, offering men a practical path to balance, clarity, and leadership. The University of Hawaii recognized Kumu Ramsay as a Star of Oceania for his contributions to cultural awareness. He has guided leaders, organizations, and individuals toward a more rooted, harmonious way of living.
His work integrates Hawaiian spirituality, warrior principles, and the Way of Aloha—a path of deep connection, responsibility, and right relations. Those who study with him often experience profound shifts in their sense of purpose, relationships, and inner alignment.
ERICARDO BALDONADO
Ericardo, aka Ricky Baldonado, is the Founder of Warrior Council and Co-Founder of People of the Forest. He supports men at the intersection of their own embodied intelligence, spiritual ecology, and ritual practice.
With training in permaculture design and the soil food web, and over two decades of experience building intentional communities, his work bridges inner transformation with ecological restoration. He lived for five formative years at a traditional Tantra Yoga ashram in India, where he guided others through teacher training programs. He has also been devoted to Native American spirituality and worked alongside Indigenous communities integrating ceremony, ancestral wisdom, and land stewardship.
His path is rooted in a simple truth: the restoration of our environment for future generations begins with the transformation of self.
"Every time you utter a sound in Hawaiian, you are calling upon a spiritual element. Understanding the cosmology of the language brings a much deeper awareness to the practice."

GETTING TO NEVADA CITY, CA FROM SACRAMENTO AIRPORT (highly recommended)
Flying into Sacramento International Airport (SMF) is the best option for getting to Nevada City (it is about an hour drive from the Sacramento airport to Nevada City). We have found that renting a car has been the most effective and autonomous way to travel to Nevada City, and will help getting around town, as public transportation/rideshare services are very limited in the area.
You can put in “Nevada City” on your favorite map app (such as Google, IOS and Waze), and the directions will take you here easily!
The Reno airport is the next best option, however we do not recommend it as the drive takes you over the mountains, which can have snowfall or other environmental dynamics that could cause delays in travel. The drive from Reno to Nevada City is about 2 hours without any traffic delays.
RIDESHARE SERVICES
If you are not renting a car from the airport, you can order an Uber from the Sacramento airport to Nevada City, which typically ranges from $90-$120. To save money, please consider sharing an Uber with others. Unfortunately, there are no Uber services from Nevada City to Sacramento, so a private rideshare service will be the best option.
CLICK HERE for the website of a local airport shuttle service. Rates are usually $115 for a one way ride from Nevada City to the Sacramento Airport (SMF):
